George Rae died on 17 November 1949 at Coleman County, Texas, at age 98. He was buried at Talpa Cemetery, Talpa, Texas.       George Rae came from Jedburgh, Scotland, to Illinois. He lived there two years then came to DeWitt County, Texas. Here he met and married Mary Ann Rosanna Green. They moved to Richland Springs, San Saba County, then to Burkett. In 1910, the family moved to Talpa. George Rae was a well-known rancher and sheep breeder. A community and a school near Coleman were named for him.

She and Uncle Burton came to Texas with daddy. Daddy was a carpenter and made lots of money in those days. Aunt Rosanna met and married Captian Gus Jones. They went to the old Jones homestead and had four children: James, 1st; Will, 2nd; Sophy, 3rd; and Charlie, 4th. Aunt Rosanna took pneumonia when Charlie was 8 days old and died. Grandmother mostly raised the children. Rosanna would have been a half-sister to Burton and Little Berry Green.

George Collinsworth and officially appointed 1st Artillery Lieutenant in the Federal Republican Army of Texas by the provisional government on 10 March 1836. He was a signer of the pledge of the Collinsworth company to protect with their lives the citizens of Guadalupe Victoria who upheld the "Republican institutions of the Govt. of Mexico and of Coahuila & Texas under the Constitution of 1824."
