Death of Charles Knower

Letter from John Knower to John Randall announcing the death of Charles Knower

Dear John,

I have the melancholy duty of informing you of the death of my brother Charles. He died yesterday afternoon; my letter to you Sunday will have prepared you for this event. Poor fellow, he suffered much Sunday & Monday, but expired without a struggle. You can well imagine what an affliction this is to us all, so dear was he, and indeed all who knew him loved him. You will communicate to our friends and connections of the tiding of his death. He is to be buried tomorrow. Sarah arrived safe at home this morning.

                                                    Truly yours,

                                                     John Knower
