Ann Roe Cowper and Charles Leonard Cocke

Ann Cowper Cocke, mother of Susan Barron Cocke, was Portsmouth's second victim of the Yellow Fever epidemic that killed nearly a thousand townspeople in 1855.

Charles Leonard Cocke was a scion of one of Tidewater's oldest and most distinguished families. He predeceased his wife by a year.
