HEINRICH FERDINAND "HENRY" KAY was born November 16, 1885 in Balje, Germany. Henry immigrated to the United States with his parents, Carl Frederich and Anna Sophia along with his sister Marie on April 28, 1901. It is not known at this time how long he remained in Washington state, but he did attend school in Buncombe Hollow.
Henry was a house carpenter and a contractor before becoming a building inspector in San Francisco for many years. The 1920 U.S. Census has him living as a lodger in San Francisco at 422 Valencia Street, age 34 and single.
Apparently, Uncle Henry loved to ride motorcycles. The following is a response from "Papa", at the SF motorcycle club after I informed him a cousin was in possession of a belt buckle:
Henry met and married Helen. They had no children.
Henry died April 16, 1959 in San Francisco, San Francisco County, California.
Helen died December 25, 1983 in San Francisco, San Francisco County, California.
