Jack and Mary had a ranch with an orchard of pear trees on Maude Avenue in Sunnyvale, California.
After Jack's death, Mary's sister Nell came to live with her at another home that Jack and she built after selling the ranch. When Nell passed away, Mary's son Clarence built mother-in-law quarters behind his home in Los Altos, California where she lived until her death.
