John Krell was born in Germany February 2, 1839. He was united
in marriage to Anna Marie Bissen in 1869, leaving the same year
for the United States and locating in LaMont [sic] Ill. He resided
in this place until 1876 when he moved to Gilbertzville, [sic]
Iowa. In 1883 he came to White Lake and took up a homestead in
Eureka Twp. He moved his family out here in 1884. His wife preceded
him in death in 1890. To this union eleven children were born,
two of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are John of
Blooming Prairie Minn., Mrs. Jessie Lease of Parker, S. D. Peter,
Nick, Jake, Henry, Matt, Fred, and Mrs. J. E. Huebl of this locality.
In 1893 Mr. Krell was united in marriage to Mrs. Markhardt whose
death occurred in 1908. Four children were born to this union,
again one having died in infancy. The surviving children are Frank,
Carl and Anna of this city.
Mr. Krell retired fron farming in 1905 and moved to White Lake
where he resided until his death September 15th, 1920.
Funeral services were held at the St. Peters Catholic church conducted
by Rev. Father Krejsa Friday morning September 17.
