  James Franklin is the son of Philip Franklin and Rachel Horton.1 
Note   James was not listed in the list of Children of Philip and Rachel in the Wikberg book. Ms Wikberg referenced "Bible of Philip Franklin" for her list of children. Ms Jenks listed several references for this family, including the History of Guilford, vital records in multiple towns, cemetery records, and a manuscript at the NEHGS. I cannot tell where she got the reference to James.2,1
