Harry R. Ellis and Genevieve H. Kuckens

Harry Ellis was a son of Catherine "Kate" (Donahue) Ellis from her first marriage to John Ellis. John died in 1900. Catherine remarried to Edwin E. DeCoursey in 1918, about two and a half weeks after the marriage of Harry and Genevieve. Harry and his wife lived with Ed and Kate at the beginning of their marriage, they are all enumerated living in the same household on Oakland Ave in Kansas City, Kansas in the 1920 US Federal Census.

MARRIAGE AFFIDAVIT
That said Harry R. Ellis is 23 years of age, and that said Genevieve H. Kuckens is aged 23 years; that they have their parents� consent to said union, and that neither has been divorced within six months last past.
That said contracting parties are not related to each other in any of the degrees prohibited by law, namely: parent and child, grandparent and grandchild in any degree, brother and sister of the whole or half blood, uncle or niece, aunt or nephew, nor first cousins.
That neither of said parties is or ever has been epileptic, imbecile, feeble-minded, or insane; or, if either is or has ever been so afflicted, then that the woman is more than forty-five years of age.
And that neither party was born subsequent to the insanity of either of his or her parents; or, if so, that the woman about to be married is more than forty-five years of age.
