Last Will and Testament of Kate Hughes Deceased.
I Kate Hughes of Council Bluff Pottawattamie County Iowa being of sound Mind, Memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament herby [sic] revokeing [sic] and Makeing [sic] void all former wills by me made heretofore [sic].
First I direct that my body be decently Intered [sic] in Cemetery according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Holy Catholic Church and as to such estate as it hath pleased the Almighty God to entrust me with I dispose of the same as follows. I give and bequeath to my Daughters Mrs Mary Carter and Annie Coyle all my right title and interest being my Dower right in the following described real estate. Lot No Nine (9) In Block No Seven (7) in Jacksons addition to the City of Council Bluffs situated in Council Bluffs Pottawattamie County Iowa In Equal shares after all the necessary and legetimate [sic] expenses incurred in my burial are paid.
Second I Herby [sic] appoint Martin Hughes to be the executor of this my last will and testament.
In Witness Whereof I have to this my last Will and testament set my hand this 30th day of January 1885.her

I J.J Shea Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for said County and State do herby [sic] Certify that the within and foregoing Will of Kate Hughes deceased Was on this 28� day of August AD 1885 duly proven in open Court by the testimoney [sic] of Patrick Carter and Martin Hughes the subscribing Witnesses thereto Who upon oath say that said will was duly executed by said testator in the prescence [sic] of the attesting Witnesses thereto and by them signed in the prescence [sic] and at the request of said testator. And I further certify that said will and testament as proved Was by said Circuit Court allowed and admitted to Probate as and for the last Will and testament of Kate Hughes deceased and ordered by said Circuit Court that said Will together with this Certificate be Recorded in the Will Records of said Court�s and that the same has so been Recorded in Will Record �C� Page 261 to page 262 Inclusive.
