Anne (Hughes) Coyle was the second youngest daughter of John and Kate Hughes, and a half-sister of Martin Hughes. She was born in County Mayo, Ireland and emigrated to the U.S. in the late 1860's. She married John Coyle on 26 Dec 1876 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They had three children, sons John H. (who married Mary A. Shoemaker), Frank E. (who married Abbie G. Hartenhoff) and William T. (who married Vida Curtain).

Funerals
The funeral of Mrs. John Coyle was held from the St. Francis church Monday morning at 9 o�clock. Solemn requim high mass was celebrated with Mgr. McManus as celebrant, Father Judge as deacon and Father Powers as sub-deacon. The pallbearers were John and James Rudy,1 John and James Coyle,2 James Murphy,3 John Sweeney,4 George Doudle[?]. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
1 John and James Ruby were the sons of Anne's niece Katherine (Murphy) Ruby (daughter of her sister Nora).
2 James Coyle was Anne's nephew, the son of her sister Katherine (Hughes) Coyle. John was either Anne's son John H. or Katherine's son John J.
3 James Murphy was Anne's nephew, the son of her sister Nora (Hughes) Murphy.
4 John Sweeney was the son of her niece Anne (Coyle) Sweeney (daughter of her sister Katherine (Hughes) Coyle).
