Katherine (Hughes) Coyle was the second youngest daughter of John and Kate Hughes, and a half-sister of Martin Hughes. She was born in County Mayo, Ireland and emigrated to the U.S. in the late 1860's. She married James C. Coyle on 21 Jan 1869 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They had eleven children, two of which died young. Their children were John J. (who married Mary Dailey and lived in Los Angeles), Anne (who married Dennis A. Sweeney), Mary, Frank J. (who married Margaret Doherty), James W., Catherine G. (who married Howard R. Morgan), Isabelle (who married William C. Assman and lived in South Dakota), Margaret (who married John B. Sweeney 1 of this city; Mrs. H. R. Morgan,2 Omaha; Mrs. William Assman,3 Jordon, S. D.; Sister Mary Clarence,4 Marcus, Ia. The sons are John Coyle, Rapid City, S. D.; Frank Coyle, Gregory, S. D.; James Coyle, of this city. She also leaves four sisters and one brother. They are Mrs. John Coyle 5 of Council Bluffs; Mrs. Edward Murphy 6 of Lewis township; Mrs. James Claar 7 of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. George Gleason 8 of Grand Island, Neb., and Martin Hughes of Omaha. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 9 o�clock from St. Francis church. The funeral will be conducted with requiem high mass by Rev. Father McManus. Interment will be in St. Joseph�s cemetery. 1 Daughter Anne, wife of Dennis A. Sweeney. 2 Daughter Catherine, wife of Howard R.
