Mary Margaret "Sis" (DeCoursey) Dix
(1925 - 2008)

Mary M. "Sis" DeCoursey was the daughter of James W. "Jake" DeCoursey III and Helen A. Shaughnessy, both of Leavenworth, Kansas. She was born and lived her whole life in Leavenworth. 	Leavenworth Times (Leavenworth, Kansas) Friday, October 03, 2008 Leavenworth, Kan. - Mary Margaret �Sis� Dix, 83, of Leavenworth, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at Country Care in Easton. She was born April 10, 1925, in Leavenworth, the daughter of James William and Helen A. Shaughnessey DeCoursey. She married Ralph E. Dix on Dec. 2, 1944, in Little Rock, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James William �Bud� DeCoursey Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Carey A. Huffman and husband Joe of Leavenworth; her son, Ralph E. Dix Jr. and wife Toni of Leavenworth; and two
granddaughters, Nina R. Huffman and Dondi L. Dix. She worked side-by-side with her husband Ralph in many business ventures, including Dix and Son Office Supply, for many years. She and Ralph were also involved in the Operation International sponsorship program. As a result of their sponsorships, they traveled extensively and were honored by the country of Guatemala. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at the Davis Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in the Leavenworth National Cemetery. The Rev. Jack Divine will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to Country Care, 515 Dawson St., Easton, KS 66020.
