Joseph E. Crowley, 72, Kansas City, Kan., died Dec. 17, 1991, in Providence Place, 8909 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan. He was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Crowley was a stereotyper for Sharp Color Press for 30 years before he retired in 1978, and also worked for the Kansas City Star Co. for 20 years.

He was a member of the Graphic Communications Union. He was a violinist for the Kansas City Philharmonic in the 1960s, and played with the Vic Smith and Max Bicknell orchestras. He taught music privately and for the Jenkins Music Store in the 1970s and early 1980s. He was a member of the Kansas City Federation of Musicians.

He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Kansas City, Kan. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Ella Dora Crowley of the home; two daughters, Joyce A. Johnson, Kansas City, and Carol L. Warren, Great Bend, Kan.; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church; entombment in the Mount Calvary Cemetery mausoleum, Kansas City, Kan. Friends may call from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Butler Chapel, 6300 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., where the rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. The family suggests contributions to Catholic Charities.
