Joseph John Donegan II
(1917 - 2002)

B4 Joseph John Donegan II, 84, a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area, passed away Wednesday morning, June 5, 2002, from an illness at St. Luke's Hospital. Joseph was born June 28, 1917, the oldest child of Joseph and Jane Donegan. He was a graduate of Bishop Ward High School and attended Rockhurst College. Survivors include Margaret Donegan, his wife of 53 years; five children, Patricia and her husband, David Wetmore of Spring Hill, KS, Charles and Karen Donegan of Kansas City, MO, Loretta Penson of Olathe, KS, David and Debbie Donegan of Harrisonville, MO, Edward and Tina Donegan of Kansas City, MO; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his brothers, William, Eugene and Daniel Donegan. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph J. Donegan III, his parents, Joseph and Jane Donegan, two brothers, Robert and Paul Donegan and two sisters, Rosemary Smith and Regina Renz. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at St. John Francis Regis Church, 8941 James A. Reed Rd., Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 7, at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd., Kansas City, MO, where the Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Francis Regis Building Fund, in care of the funeral home.
