John T. Wickham
(1862 - 1945)
John was the first born of Patrick and Margaret (Doyle) Wickham's eleven children. He was born on July 5, 1862 in Council Bluffs, Iowa where his father's family had settled after emigrating to the United States from Ireland in the late 1850's. Several members of his family ran a very successful contracting business there. When he was a toddler his parents moved west, spending a short time in Colorado before settling in Boulder Valley, Jefferson County, Montana where his family ran a general and stock farm. John was also a rancher, and lived the rest of his life in the Boulder Valley. He married Ida D. Stivers in 1900, they had two children; Francis M. (did not marry) and Margaret E. (married Norman E. Boe).

Sunday, August 12, 1945, p. 8John T. Wickham, 83, Boulder Resident, Dies at Ft. Harrison
John T. Wickham, 83, resident of the Boulder valley for 80 years, died about 6 o�clock last evening at the Fort Harrison veterans hospital where he had been admitted Aug. 2, after being in failing health for several months.
Mr. Wickham, a veteran of the Spanish-American war, was engaged in ranching near Boulder most of his life. He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, May 7, 1862, and came to Montana with his parents when he was a small child.
His wife died in March this year.
Survivors are a son, Francis Wickham of Boulder; a daughter, Mrs. N. E. Boe of Richland; a brother, Frank Wickham of Boulder; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Hossfeldt of Butte; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be from St. Catherine�s church in Boulder and burial will be in the Boulder cemetery. The body is at the Opp and Conrad funeral home.The Independent Record (Helena, Montana)

Funerals services for John T. Wickham, 83, who died Saturday at Fort Harrison, will be conducted at 10 o�clock Tuesday morning at St. Catherine�s church in Boulder. Burial will be in Boulder cemetery. The Opp and Conrad mortuary is directing arrangements.
