James William Coyle
(1878 - 1949)


James W. Coyle was one of the 11 children of James and Katherine (Hughes) Coyle. It is not known whether he was married, but he had no children. He lived in the Council Bluffs, Iowa area all his life, working for the railroad for the most part. He is buried in his parents' family plot in St. Joseph Cemetery, Council Bluffs.

      TREATED--James Coyle, 614 South Seventh street, fainted and fell down the steps leading to the basement at the Moose hall Sunday night. The emergency unit administered oxygen to him. Coyle was then treated by a hospital interne brought by the police. Coyle was taken to Mercy hospital, where his condition Monday noon was listed as fair.

Obituaries
James Coyle.
      A lifetime resident of Council Bluffs, James Coyle, 70, 614 South Seventh street, died Monday at a local hospital. He was a retired car repairman for the Great Western railroad and a member of Moose lodge.
      Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Anna Sweeney of Council Bluffs, Sister Mary Clarence of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Isabell Assman of Winner, S. D.; two brothers, John Coyle of Los Angeles, Calif., and Frank Coyle of Omaha.
      Requiem mass will be elebrated by Msgr. James P. Danahey Wednesday at 9 a. m. at St. Francis church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Beem-Belford funeral home until the hour of service.
