Margaret Catherine (Linehan) DeCoursey
(1916 - 2011)

Margaret was born August 14, 1916 in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of Jeremiah J. Linehan and Hannah O'Connor. Both her parents were born in Ireland and came to the US around 1904. Margaret had a younger brother, John H. Her father worked as a foreman for the Portland Gas Co. In 1946 she married William J. "Bill" DeCoursey, the son of Edwin J. and Mary J. (Poff) DeCoursey. It is unclear how Margaret and Bill met, as Bill was living in Los Angeles, California at the time of their wedding, and Margaret's family was in Portland. Perhaps Margaret went to LA after college and they met there. Margaret and Bill had six children, and lived the rest of their lives in California. She is survived by her six children Peggy, Patrick, Tom, Tookie, Paul and Maureen, and her two grandchildren, Mathew and Ryan. Rosary: Thursday, July 7, Holy Family Cathedral, 4 pm.
