Leo Robert "Bob" Poff, 75, Leavenworth, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Saint John Hospital.He was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Leavenworth, the son of Harry and Marie Bodde Poff. On June 28, 1949, he married Betty J. Foley. She survives him in Leavenworth.
He was manager of the Jahn Grocery Store for 30 years in Leavenworth. He then owned and operated the Leisure Lounge for 20 years in Leavenworth.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His survivors include one daughter, Dawn R. Hecker, Topeka; two sons, Dale R. Poff, Easton, and Dean R. Poff, Leavenworth; one sister, Edna Cowen, Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Poff Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Chaplain Tom Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mount Muncie Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Davis Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
