Mary Catherine DeCoursey Martin, 76, died April 9, 1996. The wake will be held 4:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Joseph A. Butler & Son Funeral Home, 19th & Minnesota, Kansas City, KS, where the Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Mass will be 9 a.m. Friday, April 12, at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Kansas City, KS; burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be sent to St. Mary College, Leavenworth, KS 66048. Mary Catherine was born on Christmas day, 1919, and died on Easter Tuesday. She was a lifetime resident of Kansas City, and a member of St. Peter's parish. She served her church by caring for others. She fed the hungry, visited the sick, and comforted the mourners. She was our rock and refuge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Martin. She is survived by her children, Anne and Bob Osdieck, Lenexa, KS, John and Nancy Martin, San Diego, CA, Mike and Kam Martin, Littleton, CO, Joe and Karen Martin, Roeland Park, KS, Frank and Chris Martin, Kansas City, KS, Donald and Susan Martin, Roeland Park, KS, Peter and Colleen Martin, Dallas, TX, Julie and Tom Lester, Lenexa, KS, and Philip any Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Woman's City Club of Kansas City.
