Obituary for
Charles E. Mullen
(1875 - 1899)


Charles was the youngest of Michael J. Mullen and Catherine McDonnell's eight children, and a brother of John, who married Cecilia Hughes. Both of his parents were born in County Galway, Ireland. Charles was born in Cincinnati, Ohio around the time of his father's death in 1875. Within a few years after he was born his mother moved the family back to Omaha, Nebraska where they had lived briefly around 1868. He spent the rest of his life there, dying at the age of 24 of tuberculosis. He is buried in his parents' family plot in St. Joseph New Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio.

MULLEN--Charles E., age 24 years.
      Funeral Tuesday, August 1, at 8:30 a. m., from the family residence, 1137 South Twenty-eighth street, to St. Peter's church. Interment Holy Sepulcher cemetery. Mr. Charles E. Mullen has been with the Cudahy Packing company as clerk for about four years and is a brother of John and Peter.

FUNERAL OF CHARLES MULLEN
      The funeral of Charles Mullen, aged 24 years, will be held this morning at 9 o'clock at St. Peter's church, Twenty-seventh and Leavenworth streets, Father English officiating. The interment will be at Holy Sepulcher. Mr. Mullen was a student at Creighton college and for years held a responsible clerical position at Cudahy's packing house, South Omaha.
