John Morrisey was born in 1924 in Kansas City, Kansas. Records indicate that he was the son of William J. Morrisey and Alice Dolan. William was an automobile salesman. In 1952 he married Jean DeCoursey, the daughter of Francis Eugene "Frank" DeCoursey and Catherine "Kate" Cotter. John and Jean had six children.

John T. Morrisey, Overland Park, KS, passed away October 15, 2004, at the age of 80. John was a longtime resident of Kansas City, KS. He attended St. Peter's Grade School, graduated from Ward High School, and attended Rockhurst College. John served in the US Navy during World War II, followed by a career as a commercial airline pilot. He was a TWA pilot for 33 years.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Jean (DeCoursey) Morrisey. He is survived by his six children, all from the Kansas City area, Mary Kate Morrisey, Alice Morrisey, John T. Morrisey, Jr., Patty Morrisey-Vedros and her husband Nick, Joe Morrisey, and Tom Morrisey. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Nicholas Vedros, Patty Morrisey, Christine Vedros, Jacqueline Morrisey, and Jeannette Morrisey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 19 at Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m., Monday, October 18 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Dr., Overland Park, KS, 66204. (Arr.
