Elizabeth Coyle was the youngest of James and Katherine (Hughes) Coyle's 11 children. She joined the Roman Catholic order of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, becoming Sister Mary Clarence.

Long Illness Fatal to
Sister Mary Clarence

      Sister Mary Clarence, B. V. M., a native of Council Bluffs, died Sunday in Dubuque after a long illness.
      She was the daughter of the late James and Kathryn Coyle of Council Bluffs.
      She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Anna Sweeney of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Belle Assmann of Winner, S. D.; and two brothers, Frank Coyle of Omaha and John Coyle of Los Angeles, Calif.
      Funeral services will be held Tuesday in Dubuque.
