Passenger List: SS Aquitania 1920

  back to passenger lists

SS Aquitania sailing from Southampton, Southamptonshire, England
on 13 Nov 1920, arriving in New York on 20 Nov 1920.

This list is written horizontally in the original, but to make it easier to view I have transcribed it vertically. "do" stands for "ditto", i.e. the same as the column to the left. The text was typed on the original, except for text in italics which was hand-written.

Thomas McInerney was a brother of Ellen McInerney, the mother of Helen Clune, who married Vincent William DeCoursey. He had emigrated to the United States in 1908, so this was a return trip home for him (he probably left the US for Ireland on July 1, see below). The exact relationship of the women who were traveling with him is not known. They all lived in the same area of County Clare. Birdie Ryan states that she is Thomas' cousin. Ellen Burke is enumerated as Eileen Burke living with John and Ellen (McInerney) Clune in Kansas City in the 1930 Federal Census. Her relationship to head of household John Clune is listed as cousin (but she may also have been Ellen's cousin).

Images of the original ship manifest and a picture of the ship are available at EllisIsland.org. In order to access the material you will have to register with the site, which is free. The manifest is on two pages. The first page of Ellen Burke's entry is on page # 0396-0397. Bridget Kennedy's entry is on page # 0380-0381. Thomas McInerney's entry is on page # 0376-0377. Birdie Ryan's entry is on page # 0368-0369. In all cases the second page of the manifest is on the first page # (click on "next" to view the first page).
