Buckskin Cemetery
(aka Alma Cemetery)
Alma, Park, Colorado
Surnames: Bishop, DeCoursey, Kilduff
Edwin E. DeCoursey, son of James W. and Mary (Murphy) Coursey, went to Colorado in 1879 to seek his fortune. There, in the little mining town of Alma, he met Mary McCormick of Dushore, Pennsylvania. Mary's sister Frances and her husband Edward Kilduff ran the St. Nicholas Hotel in Alma. Edwin and Mary were married in 1882. The following is a listing of the tombstones of various members of the Kilduff and DeCoursey families. It appears that these are the only tombstones for the families in the cemetery, it is likely that more Kilduff family members are buried here but did not receive a stone (or they have disappeared).

Arnold was the fourth of Harry C. and Mary Alice (Kilduff) Bishop's five children. He died of cancer at the age of 23.Bishop, Charles E. (1907 - 1917)
Charles was the first born of Harry C. and Mary Alice (Kilduff) Bishop's children. He died of pneumonia at the age of 10. (See his obituary.)DeCoursey, John (1892 - 1893)
John was the son of Edwin E. and Mary (Mcormick) DeCoursey. He lived his short life in Alma. There is conflicting evidence regarding his birth and death dates. The inscription on his headstone states he was born Feb. 22, 1890 and died Dec 1901. Other sources state he was born in 1892. Census records show that he died before 1900. According to a notice in the Fairplay Flume on 2 March 1893: "The youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. DeCoursey died quite suddenly at Alma Tuesday [Feb. 28], and was buried there to-day." Given the appearance of the tombstone and incorrect death date it was probably placed there many years after his death.Kilduff, Edward (1847 - 1914)
Edward Kilduff was Mary (McCormick) DeCoursey's brother in law, husband of her older sister Frances "Fanny". Edward was born and grew up in a neighboring town to the McCormicks in Pennsylvania. He came to Colorado in 1871, and lived there the rest of his life, mostly in Alma where he ran the St. Nicholas Hotel. (See his obituary.)Kilduff, Patrick Henry (1879 - 1932)
Patrick was the son of Edward and Fanny (McCormick) Kilduff, the youngest of their three children. He lived his life in Colorado, and did not marry.
