Here are instructions for Cut, Copy, Paste:

How to Cut, Copy and Paste

Definitions:

Cut means cut it out or remove it
Copy means copy it without removing it
Paste means stick it somewhere else

Instructions:

Copy using the Mouse:

Put your cursor on the first letter on what you want to cut or copy.
While holding your left mouse button down, drag your mouse to the very last letter or punctuation mark. You have just selected the text and it should be a different color.
(If you goof, click the mouse button once to unhighlight, then start over.)

Copy using the Keyboard:

Another quick tip to make life easier is learning how to use the keyboard to highlight things.

Put the cursor at the beginning of what you want to copy by clicking there once with the left mouse button.
Now hold down the Shift key and use either the arrow keys, the Home key or the End key to highlight.

Go up to the edit menu (on the top toolbar). In that menu select cut or copy.

Shortcuts by keyboard:

With your keyboard keys here is how you do those same commands:

Cut is ctrl key and X (Hold down the Ctl key while pressing the X)
Copy is ctrl key and C (Hold down the Ctl key while pressing the C)

If you were cutting, you are done.  If you then realize that you want to place the text elsewhere, you still have it on the clipboard (a temporary, non-visable holding place) and can then paste it elsewhere.  It will be on the clipboard until you cut or copy another section.

If you are copying, put your cursor at the exact spot you want the first letter to appear.  This can be either in the same document, a different document, or even a different program.

To paste, go up to the edit menu, and select paste and the text magically appears.

With your keyboard keys here is how you do that same command:

Paste is ctrl key and V (Hold down the Ctl key while pressing the V)

Summary:

Ctrl + c = copy
Ctrl + v = paste
Ctrl + x = move
