Family Note:   Note: There were three early families of the name: the brothers William, John, and Anthony from Scotland, of whom William died without issue. Anthony, William, and John embarked at London in 1637, on board the "Hector" with Gov. Eaton, Rev. Mr. Davenport and others of the New Haven colony, arriving at Boston 26 Jun 1637. They were among the first settlers at New Haven, where Anthony signed the compact, 4 Jun 1639.
