Frances Thompson of Rochester dies---
Frances A. Thompson, 74, of Samaritan Bethany Heights, a lifelong Rochester resident, died of cancer Monday afternoon (May 30, 1994) at the nursing home.
Frances A. Fox was born Nov. 1, 1919 in Rochester and grew up here and graduated from Rochester High School. On March 20, 1937, she married Albert Thompson in Cresco, Iowa. She was a homemaker. Her husband retired from IBM and Universal Ford. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Rochester Methodist Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary, Homestead United Methodist Church and the church choir. She enjoyed playing bridge.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Keith of Worthington, Ohio, Bruce of Plymouth, Minn. and Jeff of Rochester; a daughter, Deanna (Mrs. Dean) Sanden of Winona; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and two sisters, Maxine Strassman of New Athens, Ill., and Marge Mills of Glendale, Ariz. A sister and a grandson preceded her in death.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Homestead United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Buller officiating. burial will be in Orion Center Cemetery in Cummingsville, Minn.

Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Macken Funeral Home and an hour before the services Thursday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Samaritan Bethany Foundation, or Homestead United Methodist Church.
