Daniel came to Kalimar Township, Olmsted Co., Minnesota in 1862. He served as supervisor of town in 1867 and ???? and was assessor for three years. He was a member of the State Legislature two terms.

Death Note:    Also have record of date of death as 1 Jan 1899 (may have been a typo) (The Family Sheet from Kay Tompkins Kalis shows the 18 Jan 1899 death as correct.)

     Back of photo reads Lafyette. Identified at family reunion 1999 as being Daniel D. Tompkins.
Additional information on back supports this identification.
