Note: Administration on the estate of "Clark" Joseph Thompson was granted to his widow 6 May 1712 (New Haven Probate Records, vol 4, p. 36). The childrens names are given as Anna, aged 14, Joseph, aged 9, Stephen, aged 5 and Jonathan, aged 3. An interesting deed granting a right of way, dated 1 Feb 1770, names grantors Daniel Thomas, Asa Smith, Jonathan Thompson, Ebenezer Humphreyvile and his wife Esther, John Johnson, Jr., and wife Mabel, Moses Pardee and wife Mary, Titus Beecher and wife Elizabeth, Bethia and Jeduthan Thompson, and Benajah Thomas (New Haven Deeds, vol 30, p. 434). All of these except the two Thomases were heirs of Joseph Thompson thorugh his sons Joseph and Stephen.
Individual Note: Joseph was a sergeant and received by deed, his fathers West Haven property.

There is conflicting information on this William. 'Families of Ancient New Haven", p. 1749 & 1757 gives his birth date as 17 Jan 1674, and his wife's name as 'Martha'. They also show him with the following family:

With his brothers Samuel and Gideon, he removed to Goshen, CT in 1740, where he was elected Town Clerk and Treasurer in 1741 and each year thereafter until 1750 when he declined re-election. It was at this time that he and Samuel moved to Dutchess Co., NY.
Amos and Sarah removed to Standford NY and the lineso f descent from him are given in American Ancestry (Vol 2, pp. 51, 126) Childern are recorded at New Haven: Allins, b 2 Jun 1727; Rebecca, b 28 Apr 1729; Amos, b 7 Aug 1731

Death Note: City/County Finder does not show an Amenia Connecticut. The closest is Amenia, Dutchess Co., New York, which has been also listed as a death location.
