Services Set For Wilkerson
Graveside services for Jennie B. Wilkerson, 315 E. Maple, are set Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Laneer Cemetery. Mrs. Wilkerson died Saturday, July 13, 1985, in Stillwater Medical Center at the age of 69. The Rev. Clarence Bear will officiate at the services. Friends may call at Strode Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Wilkerson was born on Oct. 26, 1915, in Carney Neb., the daughter of William and Sarah (Lyle) Gates. She came to Oklahoma with her parents and lived in Wetumka, Seminole and El Reno, where she married Edmond Lee Wilkerson. The couple moved to Stillwater in 1951. Mrs. Wilkerson worked for many years at Stillwater Laundry and Cleaners.
She is predeceased by her husband, who died in 1968; one son, Allen; a sister, Rena Anderson; and three brothers, Elvan, Bill and Tim Gates.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Wilkerson of Stillwater and Herschel Wilkerson of Tulsa; one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Lucille) Duncan of Stillwater; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, The Rev. Leroy Gates of Polvedero, N.M., and Henry Gates of Perry; and three sisters, Josephine Mick of Stillwater, Margaret Mick of Stillwater, and Mary Dennisson of Stanley, N.M.
