Nile Seamons
          Route 1, Rock Island resident Nile Rowland Seamons, 70, succumbed to a three-week illness in Vanderbilt Hospital, Nashville, at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday.  A member of McElroy Church of Christ and native of Van Buren County, he was married to the former Kathleen Harris and was a son of the late W.H. and Nancy Rowland Seamons.  Mr. Seamons had followed farming, logging and lumber businesses.  In addition to his widow, he is survived by three sons, Billy, Dan and Sam Seamons, all of Bone Cave.  He is also survived by a sister, Iona Mullins of McMinnville, two grandchildren and four great-grand- children.  Royce Farris conducted services in High's Chapel, the funeral home in charge, at 2 p.m. Thursday.  Interment was in Mt. View Cemetery.

A farmer and mechanic and a member of McElroy  Church of Christ, he was the son of Niles Rowland and Florence Kathleen  Harris Seamons; and was preceded in death by his wife Louise Horton Seamons in 1999.  He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Phillip R. Seamons  Gilley of McMinnville; sons, James Niles and Timothy Wayne Seamons, both of Bone Cave; grandchildren James Niles Seamons II, Jamie Nicole  Seamons, Zachery Garrett Seamons and Logan Blake Seamons, all of  Bone Cave, Tyler Seth Gilley and Phillip Todd Gilley, both of McMinnville,  Kimberly Michelle Seamons and Jennifer Louise Seamons, both of Spencer;   and brothers, Dan and Sam Seamons, both of Bone Cave.  Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Doug Goff  officiating.             Bone Cave resident and White County native Louise Horton Seamons, 65, died Nov. 4 at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage after a one-year illness.  A supervisor at Findlay Industries and a member of McElroy Church of Christ, she was the daughter of James Ira and Mary Lou Savage Horton; and was preceded in death by brother, James D. Horton.  She is survived by her husband, James Seamons; sons, James Nile and Timothy Wayne Seamons of Bone Cave; daughter, Angela Seamons Gilley of Bone Cave; brothers, William N. Horton of Doyle, Robert and John Horton of Walling; sister, Betty Slatton of Quebeck; and eight grandchildren.  Services were held Saturday at High’s Chapel with Doug Goff officiating.  Burial followed at Mt. Bryant Seamons, Merchant, Dies. Rites Friday 
       Funeral services for Thomas Bryant Seamons, 52, retired merchant, were conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the chapel of High Funeral Home.  Rev. Bill A. Jordon, Bapitst minister of Chattanooga, and Stanley J. McInery, Minister of Westwood Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Mt. View cemetery. Mr. Seamons, a McMinnville merchant for six years, died at Faulkner Springs hospital Wednesday afternoon at 4:40 o'clock as a result of injuries received in a truck accident near his Bone Cave home on the previous Sunday. He suffered several broken ribs and a punctured lung in the accident. A native of Van Buren county, Mr. Seamons was born January 13, 1901. He was the son of W.H. Seamons and Nancy Rowland Seamons and he was married December 31, 1922 to Miss Emma Gertrude Miller. She died September 24, 1950.  Mr. Seamons was engaged in the grocery business on Rebel Hill here from 1941 to 1947, moving to Florida at that time where he operated a motor court at St. Augustine until 1951. Returning here he had lived at Bone Cave since that time. Mr. Seamons was a member of the Baptist Church.  He is survived by his parents; five daughters Mrs. G.H. O'Neal, Chattanooga, Mrs. Edwin Whitlock, Brunswick, Ga., Mrs. G.H. Partin, Misses Tommye and Patricia Seamons, St. Agustine, Fla.; one brother, Sam Seamons, Bone Cave, and three sisters, Mrs. R.M. Patton, Mrs. L.E. Harris and Mrs. M.J. Mullins, McMinnville. Arrangements were by High Funeral Home.

          Mrs. Nora Ellen Neal, who would have been 99 years of age this coming Independence Day, died of a lingering illness in Lively Heights Nursing Home at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday.  A resident of the Eastside community, Route 1, Rock Island, she was a native of this county and a member of the Baptist Church.  A daughter of the late Tom and Margaret Hash Rowland, she was married to Carroll I. Neal, who preceded her in death April 29, 1965.  Surviving are a son and three daughters, Clark Neal, Route 1, Rock Island; Mrs. Casteen Sparkman, Birmingham, Ala.; Mrs. Beatrice Long and Mrs. Thelma Roberts, both of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  John W. Carroll I. Neal
          Carroll I. Neal, a retired farmer, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday in the Medical Clinic, following a lingering illness.  He was 86.  Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at High's Chapel with John W. High officiating and burial was in Mt. View Cemetery.  Born July 17, 1878, he was a native of Van Buren County and was the son of the late Charlie Neal and Nora Clark Neal.  He was married to the former Nora Rowland who survives and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce.  Survivors, in addition to his widow, include one son, Clark Neal of Rock Island; three daughters, Mrs. George Long and Mrs. Jess Roberts of Chattanooga, and Mrs. Eual Sparkman of Birmingham; one brother A.P. Neal of Chattanooga; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Nash of Chattanooga; four grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

      Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Sparkman will be held at two o'clock this afternoon at High's Chapel and burial in the Hash cemetery at Rock Island, John W. High officiating.  Mrs. Sparkman, a native of Van Buren county, married Frank Sparkman who preceded her in death October 5, 1950. Surviving are one step-son. Haskel Sparkman, Doyle; one step-daughter, Mrs. Herbert Deaton, Doyle: three brothers, Will Rowland, Doyle, Henry Rowland, Rock Island, and Burr Rowland, Walling; four sisters, Mrs.  Will Seamons and Mrs. Will Johnson both of Bone Cave, and Carol Neal and Miss Martha Rowland both of Rock Island; and two grandchildren. High Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
