     Lydia Tripp was born on 6 September 1762 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ She was the daughter of Job Tripp and Hannah Rice.¹ Lydia Tripp Lydia Tripp Harding Phillips is my 3rd Great Grand Aunt. She was the second wife of Deacon John Phillips who was the father of my 3rd Great Grandmother Martha Phillips Tripp. According to records, John Phillips, Deacon, adopted Lydia Tripp's daughter, when the daughter Lydia was about 3 months old. That would of been approximately December 1775. Lydia Tripp Harding later married Deacon John Phillips in 1842, when he was sixty five and she was fifty four. After the marriage she would be my 4th Step Great Grandmother and the daughter Lydia, now named Lydia Phillips would have been 33 years old. This information comes from my

(see info on daughter Lydia for corrections/additions to this line of thought).¹ She married John Harding before 1783.¹ Lydia Tripp married Deacon John Phillips on 17 November 1816.¹ Lydia Tripp died on 4 December 1840 at Abington Twp, Luzerne Co., PA, at age 78.¹

     Mary Tripp was born on 15 September 1764 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ She was the daughter of Job Tripp and Hannah Rice.¹

John Tripp was the second son of Job Tripp, son of Isaac Tripp, son of Job Tripp, son of Peleg Tripp, son of John Tripp the Founder. His older brother Isaac, was the Grandson of Isaac Tripp, who was captured by the Indians, then taunted by them, while they killed two of his friends and scalped them. He was then sold to the British in 1778. This happened during the Revolutionary war. John Tripp was born in Middletown, Pennsylvania. He married Martha Phillips, daughter of Deacon John Phillips. John Tripp was a farmer there in Pennsylvania and died fairly young, before January 20 1820. The reason we mention this date, is that John Phillips died on that date, and left David R. Tripp, John's son, a farm, 'because his father had died previously.' John Phillips, of course, was David R. Tripps grandfather. John Tripp was, an extensive land holder and it is assumed that he divided this land amongst his children. He and Martha had seven children, all born in Pennsylvania. From MossLJ from various sources: Notes for John Tripp: John came to the Wyoming Valley with his parents. September 26, 1791, he filed his bond as administrator of his father's estate and on December 19th of the same year presented a petition to the Orphans' Court at Wilkes-Barre praying for permission to sell certain lands belonging to the estate. January 8, 1794 he sold as administrator to Micajah Harding, Lot No. 15* Providence, 375 acres improved with a log mansion house, stable and other improvements. Micajah Harding subsequently conveyed title to this lot to John Tripp, who on May 10, 1794 sold 150 acres of it situated 'on the bank of the Lackawanna River,' to Stephen Gardner and on the same day sold 210 acres of it to John Stapels of Providence, who January 18, 1795, sold it to Isaac Tripp who, March 29, 1797, again sold it to John Staples. June 15, 1792 John Tripp then of Pittston sold to Ishmael Bennett, Jr., blacksmith for £30, 100 acres of land on the highway from Captain Blanchard's to Captain Baldwin's in Pittstown. It was bounded on the west by this highway, on the east by land left for a road between the First and Second Division of 100 acre lots, on the south by lands of Mr. Sanford and on the north by lands of James Brown, Jr. August 21, 1793, he bought from William Donalding 160 rods on the Susquehanna River, adjoined lands of Richard Halstead. This land lay in what is now Ransom Township and was later a part of the 1, 255 acre Warrantee track of John Phillips. He also owned 300 acres, lying north of this Donaldson tract which eh sold November 10, 1794 to William Tripp, presumably his brother. He died before January 6, 1820 when John Phillips of Abington, Luzerne County, 'for the love I bear my grandson David Tripp, minor son of John Tripp, late deceased,' conveyed lands in Greenfield Township to David Tripp.¹ He was born on 5 September 1766 at Middletown, Newport Co., RI.¹ He was the son of Job Tripp and Hannah Rice.¹ John F. Tripp married Martha Phillips, daughter of Deacon John Phillips, on 16 December 1789 at Priceburg, Lackawanna Co., PA.¹ John F. Tripp died before 20 January 1820 at Luzerne Co., PA.¹

     Deacon William Tripp was born on 5 July 1769 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ He was the son of Job Tripp and Hannah Rice.¹ Deacon William Tripp married Grace Harding on 6 July 1795 at Exeter, Luzerne Co., PA.¹ Deacon William Tripp married Leah Pickering on 27 October 1811.¹ Deacon William Tripp died on 8 September 1842 at Clifford, Susquehanna Co., PA, at age 73.¹

     Elizabeth Tripp was born circa 1771 at PA.¹ She was the daughter of Job Tripp and Hannah Rice.¹

     Martha Phillips was born on 21 October 1771.¹ She was the daughter of Deacon John Phillips.¹ Martha Phillips married John F. Tripp, son of Job Tripp and Hannah Rice, on 16 December 1789 at Priceburg, Lackawanna Co., PA.¹

     Eleanor Freer was born in 1749.¹ She married Isaac Tripp, son of Job Tripp and Hannah Rice, circa 1780 at RI.¹ Eleanor Freer died on 10 May 1816 at Clifford Corners, Susquehanna Co., PA.¹

     John Harding was born in 1749.¹ He married Lydia Tripp, daughter of Job Tripp and Hannah Rice, before 1783.¹ John Harding died in 1813.¹

     Grace Harding was born at Exeter, Luzerne Co., PA.¹ She married Deacon William Tripp, son of Job Tripp and Hannah Rice, on 6 July 1795 at Exeter, Luzerne Co., PA.¹ Grace Harding died on 19 April 1811.¹

     Giles Slocum was born on 5 January 1759 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ He was the son of Jonathan Slocum and Ruth Tripp.¹ Giles Slocum married Sarah Ross in 1779.¹ Giles Slocum died on 14 November 1826 at age 67.¹

     Judith Slocum was born in October 1760 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ She was the daughter of Jonathan Slocum and Ruth Tripp.¹ Judith Slocum married Hugh Forseman on 24 February 1782 at Wilkes Barre, Luzerne Co., PA.¹ Judith Slocum died on 11 March 1814 at age 53.¹

     William Slocum From Mre. Moss from various sources: He was wounded by the Indians who slew his father in 1778 but escaped. He was a very active member of the Yankee party in the Second Yankee-Pennamite War. He served as High Sheriff of Luzerne County in 1796. Buried in Forty-Fort Cemetery.¹ He was born on 6 January 1762 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ He was the son of Jonathan Slocum and Ruth Tripp.¹ William Slocum married Sarah Sawyer on 4 January 1786.¹ William Slocum died on 20 October 1810 at Pittston, Luzerne Co., PA, at age 48.¹

     Ebenezer Slocum was born on 10 June 1766 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ He was the son of Jonathan Slocum and Ruth Tripp.¹ Ebenezer Slocum married Sarah Davis on 3 December 1790 at Wilkes Barre, Luzerne Co., PA.¹ Ebenezer Slocum died on 25 July 1832 at Wilkes Barre, Luzerne Co., PA, at age 66.¹

     Benjamin Slocum was born on 7 December 1770 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ He was the son of Jonathan Slocum and Ruth Tripp.¹ Benjamin Slocum married Phebe Lafrance in 1805.¹ Benjamin Slocum died on 5 July 1832 at age 61.¹

     Frances Mac-on-a-quah Slocum was born in March 1773 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ She was the daughter of Jonathan Slocum and Ruth Tripp.¹ Frances Mac-on-a-quah Slocum was captured by Three Delaware Indians on November 11, 1778 from her home in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. She was not heard from again by her family until September 20,1837. Frances had been discovered in early January 1835 by a Col. George Ewing, a trader, but a letter to the post office at Lancaster, Pennsylvania was ignored by post mistress Mary Dickson. It lay for more than 2 years before a John W. Forney became aware of the letter and published a story about it in The Intelligencer. prominent newspaper at that time. This was the very newspaper that was formerly owned by Mary Dickson, at the time the letter was written.¹ She married Little Turtle in 1791 at Ke-ki-ong-a, On Wabash, Peru Co., IN.¹ Frances Mac-on-a-quah Slocum married Chief (?) She-Po-Con-Ah in 1795.¹ Frances Mac-on-a-quah Slocum died on 9 March 1847 at Peru, Miami Co., IN.¹

     Isaac Slocum was born on 4 March 1775 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ He was the son of Jonathan Slocum and Ruth Tripp.¹ Isaac Slocum married Elizabeth Patrick on 11 January 1799 at Wilkes Barre, Luzerne Co., PA.¹ Isaac Slocum married Lydia Chase on 24 December 1839 at Clyde, Sandusky Co., OH.¹ Isaac Slocum died on 27 September 1855 at age 80.¹

     Joseph Slocum was born on 9 April 1777 at Warwick, Kent Co., RI.¹ He was the son of Jonathan Slocum and Ruth Tripp.¹ Joseph Slocum married Sarah Fell in 1800 at Wilkes Barre, Luzerne Co., PA.¹ Joseph Slocum died on 27 September 1855 at Wilkes Barre, Luzerne Co., PA, at age 78.¹

     Jonathan Slocum was born on 12 September 1778 at Wilkes Barre, Luzerne Co., PA.¹ He was the son of Jonathan Slocum and Ruth Tripp.¹ Jonathan Slocum died in September 1842.¹

     Martha Wall was born on 29 January 1744/45 at East Greenwich, Kent Co., RI.¹ She married Isaac D. Tripp, son of Isaac Tripp and Susannah Spencer, circa 1762 at East Greenwich, Kent Co., RI.¹ Martha Wall died on 27 January 1809 at Providence, Delaware Co., PA, at age 63.¹

     Catherine Holbert married William Henry Tripp, son of Isaac D. Tripp and Martha Wall, circa 1797 at Steubenville, Jefferson Co., OH.¹ Catherine Holbert died between 1806 and 1810.¹

     William Tripp was born circa 1776.¹ He was the son of Job Tripp.¹

     Daniel Tripp was born circa 1773.¹ He was the son of Major Caleb Tripp and Mary Everitt.¹

     Thomas Thurston was born on 8 October 1671 at Newport, Newport Co., RI.¹ He married Mehitable Tripp, daughter of Peleg Tripp and Anne Sisson, on 23 June 1695.¹ Thomas Thurston died on 22 March 1728/29 at Freetown, Bristol Co., MA, at age 57.¹

     Ellen Lewis married Richard Tripp, son of Peleg Tripp and Anne Sisson, on 28 November 1728 at Portsmouth, Newport Co., RI.¹

     John Smith was born on 11 July 1693 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Deliverance Smith and Mary Tripp.¹ John Smith died before 1729.¹

     Alice Smith was born on 29 October 1698 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Deliverance Smith and Mary Tripp.¹ Alice Smith died on 22 December 1783 at age 85.¹

     Peleg Smith Marriage is not in the Dartmouth VR.¹ He was born on 27 May 1700 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Deliverance Smith and Mary Tripp.¹ Peleg Smith died on 8 October 1778 at age 78.¹

     George Smith was born on 27 August 1701 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Deliverance Smith and Mary Tripp.¹ George Smith married Elizabeth Allen on 30 March 1726 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA.¹ George Smith died on 17 September 1769 at age 68.¹

     Hope Smith was born on 23 January 1702/3 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Deliverance Smith and Mary Tripp.¹ Hope Smith married Thomas Briggs on 20 November 1729 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA.¹ Hope Smith died before 1730.¹

     Humphrey Smith was born on 13 April 1705 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Deliverance Smith and Mary Tripp.¹ Humphrey Smith married Mary Willcox on 1 April 1731 at Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA.¹ Humphrey Smith died on 4 January 1778 at age 72.¹
