     George Washington Whipple was born on 21 June 1842 at Little Valley, Cattaraugus Co., NY.⁴ He was the son of Jonathan Jones Whipple and Susan Tracy.³ George Washington Whipple married Mary S. Gage, daughter of James Gage and Patty Avoline Whipple, on 20 September 1866 at Forest Lake, Susquehanna Co., PA.⁵ George Washington Whipple died on 24 March 1913 at East Randolph, Cattaraugus Co., NY, at age 70.^4,6 He was buried at East Randolph Cemetery, East Randolph, Cattaraugus Co., NY.⁷

     Joanna Gage was born circa 1850 at PA.^1,2 She was the daughter of James Gage and Patty Avoline Whipple.^1,2 Joanna Gage appeared on the census enumerated 30 April 1870 in the household of James Gage and Patty Avoline Whipple at Silver Lake Township, Susquehanna co., PA.³ Joanna Gage appeared on the census enumerated 7 June 1880 in the household of James Gage and Patty Avoline Whipple at Silver Lake, Susquehanna Co., PA.²
