Geo. Bailey's Death.
THE LEADER yesterday briefly announced the death of Geo. T. Bailey, a former
insurance agent in this city. Yesterday's St. Louis Post-Dispatch has the
following additional details:
The mysterious death of an apparently wealthy man named George T. Bailey was
reported by Dr. Dalton at the City Hospital this morning. Bailey was received at
the hospital at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in an unconscious condition. His
breath came hard, his pupils were dilated and he appeared to have taken poison.
The physician worked with him and succeeded in bringing him to consciousness for
a few moments, during which he gave some information about himself. He said his
name was George T. Bailey, that he was 37 years of age, married and had been
living at 1511 Washington avenue about three months. He was an insurance agent,
he said, but could not retain his senses long enough to say where he came from
and why he had taken poison. He died at 10 o'clock last night. He was dressed in
the latest cut of clothes and wore a diamond ring, diamond pins and studs and
carried a valuable gold watch.

bruising his legs, breast and head. Mr. Bailey Townsend, his brother, received a
telegram from Dr. T.W. Pendergrass saying: "Very badly hurt, but not necessarily
fatally." At the time of the accident Wash was employed as bookkeeper for the
King's River Lumber Co. His many friends in this city hope to hear of his speedy
