Resident Dies
Friday at Age 60

    Herbert J. Fleischman, 60, of 1124 Ninth avenue died Friday night at his
home following an illness of eight months.

    A life-long resident of the Antigo Area he was born July 25, 1914 in the
town of Rolling to Anna Fleischman and the late Frank J. Fleischman.  On June
15, 1937 he married the former Anna Wild in Antigo.  She survives.

    Mr. Fleischman was employed at the Vulcan Corporation prior to 1942 when
he began working for the Weinbrenner Shoe Company in Antigo.  He worked there
until 1970 when he began working at the company's Merrill plant.

    A member of St. John's Catholic church, Antigo, he also belonged to the
Holy Name Society.

    Surviving besides his wife and mother, both of Antigo are seven daughters,
Mrs. Robert (Marianne) Lemon, Abbotsford; Mrs. Donald (Judith) Krause, Antigo;
Mrs. John (Karen) Mucha, Green Bay; Gail, Madison; Teresa, Jane and Joan, all at
home;  two sons Kenneth and Dale, both of Antigo; a sister, Mrs. Rupert
(Dorothy) Podjaski, Eland; five brothers, Philip, Antigo; Raymond, Milwaukee;
Lester, Manitowoc; Ervin, San Antonio, Texas; and Harvey, Coldwater, Mich; and
eight grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic
church, Antigo, with the Rev. Robert LaLiberte officiating.  Burial will be in
the Queen of Peace cemetery.

    Friends may call at the McCandless-Zobel & Bradley Funeral home after 2:30
p.m. Sunday.  A wake service will be held at 8 o'clock Sunday evening.
