Stevens - married to KING in EAGLE line

HELP PAGE:  Re DNA and Genealogy Ancestry Family Tree.
2020 With DNA and my Tree on Ancestry I made some big breakthroughs with Stevens.
I hope this helps explain certain things I have found out about DNA and how to handle Trees.
I hope it shows that finding the right names at the right time may still not be the people you wanted.
Many aspects of Stevens are still unsolved. Much confusion between the different family groups in Surrey
Egham Pirbright Carhalton etc
And then they marry in London but live in Surrey
Anyone with any thoughts please let me know

So my original before DNA research

see KING - per EAGLE marriage to Lankshear

Ann Stevens is mother of Jane KING and wife of William see 1841 William King and family

Eldest daughter Ann in 1841 is 14 so born 1826/27 hence marriage must before 1827

Ann STEVENS would have been 21 in 1826

Found these in research

see 1851 KING family - Ann now Widow a niece Louisa  is with Ann KING see McMurdie or MacMurdie Family
and Louise's mother was Martha Stevens who married JOHN MACKMURDIE  22 MAY 1825
Ann was born ChristChurch Southwark so presumably her sister was also

and yes
MARTHA STEVENS
Birth: 25 APR 1806 Christening: 31 AUG 1806 Saint Saviour, Southwark, Surrey, England
Father: HENRY STEVENS  Mother: ANN Note: mother is an Ann

1806

And the actual register shows Henry as a Breeches Maker

Alas there are Ann's at the church but none with father Henry
Changing IGI to Greater London up comes
ANN STEVENS
Birth: 13 APR 1803 Christening: 03 JUN 1803 Saint Clement Danes, Westminster, London
Father: HENRY STEVENS  alas no occupation shown and Mother: ANN
Age looks right - parents same name as sister "younger" Martha -
not Southwark but perhaps they went up market for Ann or moved soon after.....

1803

1803

but we know Henry Stevens breeches maker is Ann's father as it is clear Martha is her sister

from family intermingling on census and also
1852 marriage of Ann King (Stevens) to Fred Disney

Certificate shows Ann's father as Henry Stevens tailor what else is a breeches maker

HENRY STEVENS Marriage to ANN CONWAY

20 FEB 1798 Saint Martin In The Fields, Westminster, London

And this looks very likely as our Ann

1798

1798

looked for birth Ann Conway but nothing is clear

Henry Stevens in directory

1805 Holden directory has our Breeches Maker at 4 Brunswick St. Blackfriars Rd
1917 Atlas shows Brunswick St as near Blackfriars - so just a short walk over the bridge to London churches.
Nowadays it seems to be called Paris Gardens - note the pub on the corner Brunswick Arms

 1805
1917
2011

Finding Henry after 1806

1839

The events from 1803 1805 1806 are only items I found for Henry -

The Henry Stevens that are not our Henry 1800s 1810s and 1841 census

and basically a similar story for Ann - some possible in 1841 census but nothing helps links -

you'd think she would be with her daughters -

and clearly they are in touch per Louisa McMurdie with Ann Stevens in 1851.

2020 major breakthrough due to DNA

Henry Stevens * my Tree on Ancestry

To access you will need an account on Ancestry. This is be free but you need to follow their instructions to apply.
If in process they want a credit card something has gone wrong back out and start again
Henry is from Egham - he married in London and no clue from whence he came

Egham
So DNA and ThruLines helped me find a family in Egham

This image is for Henry's father and shows his family

John Stevens * 1746–1798 Birth 22 JUN 1746 • Egham, Surrey, England

Death 20 MAY 1798 • Pirbright, Surrey, England

But I do need to work more on the grandparents

Quite clear from DNA

Matches that Henry is from Egham

Not on my tree I use Suffix field and that prints alongside name

* mean a grand parents ** is a patrilineal or matrilineal

DNA means a match to a cousin.

Ancestry also has Flags for this but I like the suffix as I can then flow through my tree on Ancestry

and make sure it flows down to the cousin.

Notice Henry with * and then 3 siblings with DNA matches
Very strong link for Egham then.
There are Henry's at Pirbright etc

If you followed the Jonathan DNA links you would eventually
find a cousin whose ancestor is
William Henry Cecil Stevens born 1894
and that unique name traces back to the Egham family

Henry is from Egham

Henry and his life in London. Death to be confirmed etc

Please note had death 1827 but I need to put work on his death etc and Ann's

Henry

tree

Henry's parents

John and Mary

 First wife Ann Conway

 First child Ann my ggm

 Then her sister Martha
at least her baptism says breeches make

A marriage in 1802 to a Nancy found as 1815 birth of Susanna to Henry and Nancy.
Clearly if this 1802 was Henry then 1803 and 1806 he was with Ann.
One can only guess if this was Henry as expected what was going with his relationships.

A tree with initials RI has birth of Susanna. I have DNA match with 63 cM. I worked from Susanna forward per

that tree and found a likely cousin and who would be 3c 2r which agrees with 63 cM. Sent a message. Alas no reply.
People often miss these Ancestry message
So DNA led me to Susanna and she does seem clearly to be Henry's daughter

Then up on my tree Hints pops this one that Henry had a boy with Sarah Staddon. And Henry is a breeches maker

No trace of a marriage and Sarah does wed later.
Nothing clear on what happened to the son.

The records found matching age of the son seem to be for another man.

This man was a mariner. That seems to be another family.

The birth of Susanna to Henry to Nancy in 1815. Again Father is shown as Henry a breeches maker
So looks strongly like another daughter to Henry, I have a DNA match to

Lambeth

And the marriage of Henry to Nancy Papell. This is 1802 and Susanna is not born until 1815.

If this was Henry who married Ann in 1798, did he return to Anne for birth of Ann 1803 and Martha in 1806

1802|
Compare Henry signature of 1798 to Ann Conway. Is it the same. Hmmm somewhat similar
Only other marriage of  Henry Stevens to a Nancy is in 1818 but that is for a William Henry Stevens

1798

Banns
Shown as Capell but clearly Papell
1802

The birth of son Henry to Sarah Staddon in 1814. Father is shown as Henry a breeches maker

1814

For some reason there is a typed version of the page

1814

I have found anything on the son Henry after this

And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age
