So many people migrated into London and it is difficult to know from where unless you can find census records which show birth place etc but this is really only possible from 1851 onwards as 1841 only has if born in county. A worse aspect of that is they might be born in London but not in current county. Live North of Thames in 1841 county of Middlesex but born south of Thames would be Surrey a different county,

Check if your folks were near bombs. I was - too near sometimes 

New in 2010 London Lives 1690 to 1800 ~ Crime, Poverty and Social Policy in the Metropolis.
1800 doesn't seem to be the cutoff I found Lankshear records to 1820. This may be the hidden resource you wanted

The London area covers parts of Middlesex, Essex, Kent and Surrey. These boundaries changed over the years. Because they said born London - they may not mean the small area known as the City of London.

LMA Digitisation Programme - now placed on a Commercial site namely Ancestry - more to go on and more indexing to be done especially baptisms and burials before 1812. But an enormous resource for London. Please note not all churches in London but a great many.
