Subject: Adler's Ship Directory Available

Hello there,

IN a post dated 10/28/96, Ted Gostin ([email protected]) replied to a query by RoseAnne Worth regarding Morton Allen omissions. In his reply, Ted mentioned ADLERS SHIP DIRECTORY as being a useful reference tool. He mentioned the Morton Allen Ship Directory as being the other popular reference.

At a recent Jewish Genealogy Society of Phila meeting, one of our members, Mr Walt Stock, (215-686-5396) gave a very detailed and useful presentation regarding useful resources at the Phila Free public library. Included in his detailed presentation was the mention that Adlers ship directory is available at the Phila free library.

Well, I went there and spent an hour copying the whole thing. The book states that it covers 1899-1929 but the copy I used only had 1899-1905, and 1927-1929. It also has useful info on ship routes. Let me know if you want a copy.
