Evelyn D. Hermodson, 87, of Crookston, Minnesota, died Wednesday evening, June 16, 1999, at the Riverview Nursing Home in Crookston. Evelyn was born on November 23, 1911, at Scribner, Nebraska, the daughter of Hugo and Nellie (Rasmussen) Will. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Evelyn moved with her family from Scribner to Beltrami, Minnesota in 1925. She graduated from Beltrami High School in 1930. On September 23, 1931 she was united in marriage to Gunnard M. Hermodson at Crookston. The couple made their home in Beltrami all their married lives. Gunnard passed away on November 29, 1963. In the summer of 1964 Evelyn moved to Crookston. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Beltrami. Evelyn enjoyed "word search" puzzles and games - anything that challenged her mentally. She had entered the Riverview Nursing Home on June 1st of this year.

Loving family members include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deloryce Bertils of Crookston, MN, Gloria and The Rev. Jim Thvedt of Brookings, SD (currently living in Cairo, Egypt), and Janet and Richard Plahetka of Chicago, IL; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Anna Swan and Amy Brown, both of Balaton, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Besides her husband, Gunnard, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Vernon Bertils; and an infant sister, Helen.
