Mrs. Ida Melin died, September 27, 1974, in Fertile, at the age of 72. She was born Ida Hanson, August 15, 1902, in Brandon, Minnesota, the daughter of Ludvig and Josephine Hanson. She graduated from Fairview School of Nursing in Minneapolis in 1927 and was married, March 26, 1930, to Oscar E. Melin in Fargo, where they lived for a time. They made their home in Grand Forks, for 36 years and moved to Scandia Township in 1972. For the past year and a half, Mrs. Melin has been a resident of Fair Meadow Nursing Home. She is survived by her husband, Oscar; two sons: Donald and Robert; a daughter: Mrs. James (Phyllis) Larson; a brother: J. Gilman Hanson; two sisters: Mrs. Evangeline Erickson and Mrs. Gladys Olson; and eight grandchildren.
