An attractive wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Sanstead on Wednesday evening, June 4, when their daughter, Miss Ellen Josephine, and Mr. Oscar Melin were united in holy bonds of matrimony.
Rev. G. W. Sanstead, brother of the bride, read the impressive ring service, with the assistance of Rev. A. Mattson. The marriage vows were exchanged before an improvised altar which was attractively decorated with pink and white sweet peas.
The bride wore a gown of white satin back canton crepe, fashioned on long simple lines. She carried a bouquet of roses and sweet peas.
Attending the bridal couple were Miss Alice Kolberg, cousin of the groom, and Edwin Sanstead, brother of the bride. Hilma Sanstead played Lohengrin's Wedding March.
After congratulations had been extended a bounteous wedding dinner was served to about thirty. Only immediate members of the two families were present.
The bride is a graduate of the local high school and later attended the State Teachers' College at Moorhead. She taught several years in the village and country schools of this county. The groom is a young man of sterling character and is employed at Barnesville, Minn.
The happy couple left on the morning train for Portland, Oregon, where they will make a short visit.
