J. Gilman Hanson

J. Gilman (Gil) Hanson, age 82, of Brandon died Tuesday, November 17, 1981 at the Douglas County Hospital. Fumeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chippewa Lutheran Church with Reverand Gordon Grage officiating. Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home.

J. Gilman Hanson

Joseph Gilman Hanson was born in Brandon, Minnesota on August 10, 1899, the son of Ludvig and Mary Josephine (Loken) Hanson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Chippewa Lutheran Church and attended school in the Brandon community. Gilman attended Augsburg College, worked in the Brandon Bank, and later farmed in the community. In his later years he retired and lived in the city of Brandon. Gilman died on Tuesday, November 17, 1981, at the Douglas County Hospital at the age of 82 years.

He is survived by his sisters Mrs. Gladys Olson of Blair, Nebraska and Mrs. Evangeline Erickson of Brandon; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Gilman was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 20, 1981 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chippewa Lutheran Church of Brandon, Minnesota with Reverend Gordon Grage officiating. Special music was provided by Mrs. David Thompson, organist and David Klukken, soloist.

Interment was in the Brandon Cemetery, Brandon, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Roy Strom, Clarence Lehn, Russell Olson, Ray Stich, John Korkowski, and James Larson.

Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home of Alexandria.
