Mrs. John Erickson Rites Held Monday At Garfield Church

Funeral services for Mrs. John Erickson were held Monday, Nov. 3, at the St. Lukes Lutheran church at Garfield at 2:00 o'clock p.m., with Rev. Nels E. Bengtson and Rev. N. C. Noreen officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Fridolph Anderson sang "Var Jag Gar I Skog" and "Berger Ach Daler."

The pallbearers were Albert Hedeen, Albert Toft, Oscar Johnson, Harold Johnson, Erick Wallen, Gustav A. Johnson.

Interment was made in the church cemetery at Garfield.

Mrs. John Erickson passed away Friday, Oct. 31, at her home in Ida township.

Aasta Evju was born Nov. 24, 1864, in Nore Numedal, Norway, and was 87 years, 11 months and seven days old a the time of her death. She immigrated to America as a young girl and shortly afterwards she was married to John Erickson and they made their home in Ida township where she has lived ever since.

She was baptized and confirmed in Norway.

She is survived by six children, Mrs. Albert Anderson, (Alma), of Rothsay, Erick Erickson of Brandon, Ludvig Erickson, and Halvor Erickson of Garfield, Carl Erickson of Brandon and John Erickson of Brandon, Minn., six grandchildren, one brother, Gullick Evju of Wildrose, N.D.
