Evangeline Erickson

Evangeline Erickson was born in Brandon, Minnesota, on April 15, 1908, the daughter of Ludvig and Josephine (Lokken) Hanson. She attended Brandon schools and was a graduate of the first graduating class. Evangeline then attended Normal School and then taught school for a time. In 1931 she was united in marriage to Carl Erickson. She resumed teaching in 1945 and taught until 1952 when she began working as a bookkeeper for the Brandon Creamery for 18 years. Evangeline also worked as a teachers [sic] aid in the Brandon school system. Evangeline died on September 25, 1989, at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home at the age of 81 years.

She is survived by sons: Charles and wife Donna Erickson of Lindstrom; John and wife Janet Erickson of San Diego, CA; and daughter: Sylvia and husband Bud Peterson of Alexandria. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Evangeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl in 1962, and eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were Thursday, September 28, 1989, 2 p.m. at the Chippewa Lutheran Church in Brandon, Minnesota with Reverend Tony Stockman officiating. Interment was in Brandon Cemetery, Brandon, Minnesota.

Pallbearers were Phillip R. Olson, James Anderson, Lloyd Anderson, Neil Peterson, Mark Erickson and Thomas Erickson.

Organist was Diane Thompson and soloist David Klukken.

Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
