Torsten T. Julseth died 14 January, 88 years, 8 months and 27 days old, after a brief illness in Silverdale, B.C. He was born in 1846 near Hell station, Trondelagen, came in a sailing ship to America in 1866, landing in Quebec and went from there to Red Wing, Minnesota, where he worked on a farm. Two years later he married Jorand Pederson, oldest daughter of Jens and Aase Pederson of Kenyon, Minnesota, and soon moved westward. Mr. Julseth drove with a team of oxen to Douglas County, to Alexandria and Brandon, where he took a homestead and made his home for many years. He suffered pioneer life hardships. His wife died 17 years ago in Barlow, Oregon. In Canada, Julseth had lived 7 years. There he built his eleventh home. His only sister, Ellen Moe, died in western North Dakota 6 days after him.

Julseth is survived by 5 sons and 2 daughters: Theodor, Vanderhoof, B.C., Johan, Carpenter, N.D., Anton, Rolla, N.D., Mrs. Gust Johnson, Bisbee, N.D., Palmer, Chillwack, B.C., Mrs. Ida Rowan, Sixes, Oregon, and Oscar, who lived with Mr. Julseth in Silverdale, B.C.
