--The oldest man in Orfordville--yes, perhaps in Rock county, died recently,--John H. Loken, aged 89 years. Mr. Loken was born on the "gaard" (farm) from whence he takes his name, in the parish of Sundalen, in the diocese of Throlyem, Norway, Europe. At the age of 14 years he commenced work at the goldsmith trade; traveling through Sweden together with his son, two years afterwards through his native country. Sixteen years ago he emigrated to America, and made Orford his home. He has raised a family of nine children of which only four are living to mourn his loss. His wife died two years ago at the ripe age of 77 years. Several premiums at different times and places in Europe go to show his superior skill in his chosen profession. Peace to his departure.
