Funeral Services [for] Mrs. Augusta Melin Held June 8th

Funeral services for Augusta Wilhelmina Melin were held on Wednesday, June 8, 1960 at 2 p.m. from the Engstrom-Maetzold Funeral Home. Rev. Earl D. Swanson officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Fredolph Anderson sang "He the Pearly Gates Will Open" and "We Shall Shine as the Star", accompanied by Mrs. Aaron Anderson.

Casket bearers were Harvey Kolberg, C. Arthur Melin, Carl Peterson, Hilding Peterson, Edwin Sanstead and Theodore Winkjer.

Interment was in the Kinkead cemetery.

Mrs. A. Wilhelmina Melin was born at Falkoping Vastergotland, Sweden on July 2, 1873 the daughter of Peter and Sara Peterson. In 1891 she came from Sweden to Rockford, Ill. In 1893 she moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where she worked for 16 years. In 1909, at Alexandria, she was united in marriage to A. Victor Melin. After their marriage they made their home in Ida township.

Mrs. Melin was confirmed and attended school in Sweden. She was a former member of the Lake Ida Lutheran church and later attended the Lake Chippewa Covenant church and was a member of the ladies aid.

Mrs. Melin passed away Sunday evening, June 5, at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 3 days.

She is survived by a son, Fred and two daughters, Lillian and Margaret Melin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and one sister. Two of the brothers died in infancy in Sweden.
