Axel Melin Funeral Services Held November 27

Funeral services for Axel Theodore Melin were held on Monday, Nov. 27, 1961 at 2 p.m. from the Calvary Lutheran church. Rev. Neal Pearson officiated.

Ted Ording sand "Despair Not O Heart In Thy Sorrow" and "O Love That Will Not Let Me Go" accompanied by Mrs. Arthur Tangen.

Casket bearers were Hugo Kloehn, Walter Krueger, Hugo Schultz, George Ziegelman, Alfred Zweig and Richard Zweig.

Interment was in the Lake Ida cemetery.

Axel Theodore Melin was born in Ida township on March 12, 1898, the son of Charles and Hilma Melin. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. Lukes church and was a member of the Calvary Lutheran church in Alexandria.

Mr. Melin was a veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Post 87, and a life long resident of Ida township.

Mr. Melin passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, at the home of his brother C. Arthur Melin, at the age of 63 years, 8 months and 11 days.

Surviving are 5 brothers, C. Arthur of Alexandria, Oscar of Grand Forks, N. D., Reuben of Muskugen, Mich., Herbert of Hoyt Lake, Minn., and Kermit of Van Nuys, Calif. [and] One sister (Inez) Mrs. Harold Rygh of Atwater, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, [and] two brothers, Walter and Arvid.
