(Nee Kenville) Age 63, of Mequon, WI, died Aug. 9, 2003 at home, oldest daughter of the late Al and Marion Kenville. Loving wife of 42 years of Robert D. Melin (retired from TRAK/Omniquip in 2000). Dearest mother of Julie (Bruce) Roper, Lynn (Joe) Cutts and Mark. Dear grandmother of Aaron, Danielle, Jenna and Kira. Caring sister of Michelle (Mike) Miller and Tom (Carol) Kenville. Sister-in-law of Phyllis (Jim) Larson and Don Melin. Kay will be missed by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Kay was a former resident of Grand Forks, ND, Schenectady, NY and Erie, PA.
Visitation will take place on Fri., Aug. 15 from 10:00 AM-12 noon at the Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held at Reuter Pavilion, Mequon, Rotary Park (west of Hwy. 43 on Highland Rd., use east driveway) at 1:00 PM with a celebration of Kay's life to follow from 2:00-7:00 PM. Private Interment for the family will be on Saturday in Cedarburg's Zur Ruhe Cemetery.
Kay graduated from University of North Dakota in Grand Forks in 1962 and from Penn State-Behrend in 1985. Kay worked as an elementary school teacher in Cincinnati, OH, was instrumental in founding the Washington Irving Open School in Schenectady, NY, volunteered in the garden therapy program and held office in the Chester Heights Garden Club and the Erie County Council of Garden Clubs and worked as a librarian at Weyenberg Library in Thiensville, WI, from where she retired in 2001. Kay lived her life as a devoted wife, mother and friend. Kay's hobbies included gardening, card games, reading, interior decoration and especially family travel. Kay very much loved Ozaukee County and above all, Mequon. She will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to BMT Unit Froedtert Hospital.
