Be it remembered that on this ninth day of January and in the year of one thousand eight hundred and seventeen that we, John Harmon and Elizabeth Harmon of the State of Louisiana and Parish of St. Martin of the one part and John R. Faulk of the State and Parish aforesaid, of the other part, witnesseth that we the aforesaid John Harman and Elizabeth Harman for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to us in hand, paid by the aforesaid John R. Folk, before the sealing and delivering of these the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, we declare and confess to have granted, bargained, sold, assigned, transferred, and set over and by these presents, do grant, bargain, sell, assign, transfer, and set over from henceforth forever with promise to warrant free from all claims, incumbrances, and demands whatever unto the said John R. Folk, who is here present and accepts same: A certain tract or parcel of land lying situated and being in the state and parish aforesaid, containing four arpents in front on the Grosse Isle Coulee, by forty arpents in depth, bounded on each side by the lands of Mr. Levi Campbell. It is well understood and agreed by the parties to this act, that that certain parcel of land of fifteen poles square, sold by the aforesaid John Harmon and Elizabeth Harmon, his wife, by act bearing date the twenty fifth day of September 1816, making a part of the aforesaid four arpents, are excepted from this sale, and acknowledge to be the property of the said Levi Campbell, for the said John R. Folk, his heirs and assigns to have, hold, use, enjoy the aforesaid tract of land with all the rights, privileges and appurtenances there belonging unto the only proper use of the said John R. Folk, his heirs and assigns forever.
